VMGuru : Restoring an ESX 2.X Virtual Machine on VMware Server

Nice article at VMGuru on using VMware server as a restore environment for disaster recovery on an ESX 2.x server. A GUI for the manual changes to the header file is forthcoming on VMGuru. Whitepaper: Unofficial upgrade guide to VMware ESX Server 3.x and VirtualCenter 2.x

Thinking about upgrading to VI3, it might be worth checking out this paper.

As VMWare continues to add tremendous depth to their product line, it doesn't look like competitors in the same space have a wing or a prayer.
