Tuesday, March 21, 2006 Acronis adapts TrueImage to do P2V migrations

This is wonderful news. When we did our migration, we used Acronis to create the images of our physical servers and used VMware's P2V utility to update the image to its new VMware environment. Packaging this with a single product as good as Acronis makes a lot of sense. I'd like to see this implementation in action, making sure all the drivers are present in a single folder for the VM migration.

In a keynote at the Intel Developer Forum, Intel Senior Vice President Pat Gelsinger and VMware President Diane Greene announced expanded product support and a global joint marketing campaign to increase awareness and adoption of the technology. Intel also announced a new virtualization capability that VMware plans to support in its future products."
